Privacy Policy
What this studio knows about you, how it came to know it, and how to have any of it changed or deleted. Written to be read, not to be scrolled past.
Effective 12 September 2026This policy explains what information DS Creative collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and how to have it corrected or deleted. It applies to this website, to enquiries and bookings, and to advertising run on Facebook and Instagram.
Who we are
DS Creative is the studio of Davis Shiflett, trading as Davis Shiflett Creative Co. It is a sole proprietorship based in Central Virginia, in the United States, offering social media management, content creation, photography and brand design.
In this policy, "we", "us" and "the studio" mean DS Creative. "You" means anyone who visits this website, gets in touch, or works with the studio.

Information we collect
Information you give us. Your name, email address, phone number, and anything you choose to tell us about your business. You give it to us when you email the studio, submit a form on one of our Facebook or Instagram ads, or book a call.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours is delivered by a hosting provider that records standard technical information with each request: your IP address, the page you asked for, the date and time, and information about your browser and device. This is used to serve the site and to protect it from abuse.
Client information. If you hire the studio, we handle the material you give us to do the work. That can include brand files, photographs, business information, and access to your own social media accounts.
We do not ask for and do not want sensitive information such as health, financial account, or government identification details.
How we use it
- To reply to you and answer what you asked.
- To arrange and hold a call, and to follow up afterwards.
- To quote, plan, and deliver the work you hired us for.
- To invoice you and keep the business records the law requires.
- To run and measure advertising on Facebook and Instagram.
- To keep this website working and secure.
- To meet a legal obligation, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent it or pass it to data brokers.
Facebook and Instagram advertising
The studio advertises on Facebook and Instagram, which are operated by Meta Platforms, Inc.
Lead forms. Some ads use a form that opens inside Facebook or Instagram. It asks for your name, email address and phone number, and may ask a short question about your business. Facebook or Instagram may fill those fields in from your account details, and you can change or clear them before submitting. What you send goes to the studio, is used to reply to you and to arrange a call, and is never sold.
Booking a call. Some ads send you to a page where you can book a call directly. That page collects your name, email address, phone number and the time you choose, and stores them with the scheduling and customer records service the studio uses, so we can confirm the booking, remind you, and follow up.
Measurement and retargeting. When advertising is running, this website may use the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API to record which pages were viewed and which actions were taken, so we can see which ads work and show ads again to people who visited. We may also upload email addresses and phone numbers from our own records to Meta in a scrambled (hashed) form to build Custom and Lookalike Audiences, to reach similar people and to exclude existing clients and anyone who has opted out.
Meta keeps its own copy of information collected through its platforms and uses it under the Meta Privacy Policy, which is not controlled by us.
To opt out: use the ad settings in your Facebook or Instagram account, including "Your activity off Meta technologies"; use the menu on any ad to hide ads from an advertiser; or email [email protected] and ask to be excluded, and you will be.
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics. It loads typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests those font files from Google and Google receives your IP address and browser information as part of that request. Google states that it does not use Google Fonts requests to profile users or to target advertising.
Advertising tools such as the Meta Pixel do set cookies when they are in use. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and browser tracking protection or an ad blocking extension will stop those tools loading at all.
How long we keep it
We keep information for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, and for as long as the law requires records such as contracts, invoices and tax documents to be kept. When it is no longer needed, it is deleted.
If you ask us to delete something sooner, we will, unless a law requires us to keep it, in which case we will tell you.
If you ask not to be contacted again, we keep a minimal record of that request, so that the request is not accidentally undone later.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, including limiting who can access it, using reputable service providers, and securing the accounts that hold client material. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your personal information ever occurred, we would notify you as required by law.
Children
This website and the studio's services are intended for adults and for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
Whatever state or country you are in, you can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete what we hold;
- stop contacting you;
- exclude you from targeted advertising and from any audience built from our records.
Email [email protected] and say what you want. There is no form to fill in. We will respond as quickly as we can, and in any case within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
Some United States privacy laws, including the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act and the California Consumer Privacy Act, apply only to businesses above certain size thresholds that this studio is well below. We honour the requests above regardless.
Links to other sites
This website and our social media profiles link to other sites and platforms that we do not control, including Instagram and Facebook. Their privacy policies govern what they do with your information, not this one.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version is posted on this page with a new effective date at the top. Material changes will be described in plain terms rather than slipped in. The effective date of this version is 12 September 2026.
